THERAPY DOG PROGRAM - GROUP CLASS OR PRIVATE TRAINING

Therapy dogs are dogs who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, court rooms, assisted living, hospice, airports and even dental office.  Dogs must have their CGC Title or be enrolled concurrently in the CGC program.

This is a 6-12 week program through AL Service Dog Prep focuses on developing a team bond between you and your dog.  You will be trained in simulated settings to those where you would like to volunteer.  At the end your training you and your dog will be tested on 10 individual items.  Your dog must score 80% or better to receive their Therapy Dog Certificate.

SERVICE DOG PUBLIC ACCESS PROGRAM - Private Training Only in person or via Zoom

Geared for owners with disabilities as stated by the ADA.  Owners must have approval for a Service Dog from their physician and/or therapist.  Dogs must have their CGC title or be concurrently enrolled and be evaluated by a trainer to make sure they are suited for Service work.   

This is an intensive six - eight month to program that will focus on helping owners learn the ins and outs of being in public with their Service Dog. We will also work on fine tuning tasks that you would like your dog to assist you with in everyday life.   At the end of the program you and your dog will be administered the IADP Public Access Service Dog Exam which you will have to be able to demonstrate at least 2 tasks that your dog does specifically for your disability AND pass 15 Public Access Test Items.  100% is required to pass and get your PA Certificate.
